Samuel HEATHCOTE traveled to India at the age of 15, January 24, 1813 on board the HEIC's military ship, The Winchelsea, to serve an "unlimited service" in the Honorable East India Company Army.

Samuel HEATHCOTE married Elizabeth MURRAY in 1823. Their children:
