John Keating CAMPBELL (born about 1808) married Charlotte ESTUBE (born 1814) at Mauritius on 15 Nov 1831. They had a son

  1. John Henry Campbell (born at Mauritius on 25 August 1832).

Family left Mauritius on the Ship "Ann". Arrived in Hobart Town, Van Dieman's Land in June 1835. Travelled with wife, child and servant. Left Hobart Town with family and servant soon after. Travelled on ship "John Dennison" Arrived in Sydney 16 July 1835.

Signed on with Regiment 17 July 1835. Pay slips show a lot of leave periods and alternate duties. Pay slips also record the existence of a servant. In 1837 he had deductions made from his pay for "fees of Commission on appointment". The amount was 6 pounds, 13 shillings and 10 pence. On leave without supplied rations since July 1836. Resigned from Regiment 30 June 1837.

When died (John) was Supt of Customs, Diamond Harbour. Buried 7/8/1844, aged 35 years 10 months. Buried Circular Road, Burial Ground at Calcutta at Fort Williamson Bengal. Buried by Rev. H. H. Ross., Asst Chaplain of St James Church.

John Henry CAMPBELL married Francis Cecilia WARDEN on 25 Jul 1857 at St Pauls Cathedral, Calcutta. John may have had siblings

  1. Neterville James Campbell (born 12 June 1838)
  2. Aylmer Gordon Campbell.

  1. Joan Robson who studied at St Helens (India) Parents – (divorced) and both remarried . Joan married a PACHECO (not sure of spelling and left for the UK)

(Eardley ROBSON died in Bangladesh and his first wife died in the UK)

Mr. ? CAMPBELL married Dorothy ROBSON in India (Later on divorced) had one daughter called 

  1. Patsy Campbell (studied in India (St. Helens) and left for the UK, married  – no children)
